My Next Challenge: April 2016 3 marathons in 3 weeks

In April I’m tackling one of my greatest challenges yet. I’m going to run marathons on three successive weekends. Springtime, particularly April, is perhaps the popular time of year for running marathons. With many of the biggest 26.2 mile races taking place during this time of year the temptation is to fit in as many as possible.

Approaching the finish line and about to smash my PB

So this April I’m running:

10th April Asics Greater Manchester Marathon

17th April Temple Newsam Marathon

24th April Virgin Money London Marathon

I was very proud of Louise running her first marathon at last year’s London Marathon

I’m very excited! Last year I ran the Greater Manchester and London Marathons. Last year though they were organised on consecutive weekends, so with  an extra weekend to play with so I’ve decided to run the Temple Newsam Marathon near my wife Louise’s family home. It’s going to be on the trails around the Temple Newsam house, so it will be a welcome rest from the city streets of Manchester and London.

I had an amazing time running at Manchester last year. Thanks to some wonderful help from my mate Fay I smashed my PB by 38mins to finish in 4hrs14. I’m not in the same shape this year, but it’s a great race I’m just excited to be taking part.

With my great friends Sam and Fay

My wife Louise ran her first Marathon at London last year and I’m really pleased she’s taking part again. We are running for Beating Bowel Cancer, so will be wearing bum shorts all the way round. Should be a laugh!Screen Shot 2016-04-05 at 22.15.30.png
Wish us luck!
